Team Description:
Students from 6th - 8th grade. two are veterans from last year, but the rest are new. we have several amazing mentors: Engineer for NASA, a retired pilot, and a retired Naval Engineer who worked on submarines. We hosted a tournament for the central east coast. At the tournament we teamed with the high school Vex team who was also hosting a match. It was a wonderful learning experience for the team.

Brief Submission Description:
So many seniors need hearing aids, but do not have them. Hearing loss attributes to lowering the quality of life for those who suffer from even normal hearing loss. Improving quality of life improves life span. All hearing aids pick up background sounds and they are expensive. Many did not want to wear something that had a stigma as was ugly. The Target Ear was the answer. Their logo: “What you see is what you hear.” This unique hearing device is a microphone mounted to glasses. These microphones are Cartiode microphones with noise cancelling and directional capabilities. Therefore, what the individual sees is what they hear. To cut the cost of the hearing device, the team decided to manufacture these aids in three sizes and make them affordable. The receiver is small and placed in the ear canal housing only a blue too receiver and small speaker. The “Target Ear” is: Fashionable, affordable, and rechargeable. What you see is what you hear with the new Target Ear.
