Team Description:
Our team consists of nine 5th, 6th and 7th graders from West Hills Middle School, two high school mentors, one senior mentor and all the residents of the Regent Street Assisted Living. This is our second year competing, and we are very proud of our solution and hope, once fully implemented, it will help many seniors.

Brief Submission Description:
Our patent pending project uses social media to connect seniors who need assistance to stay independent with high school students who need community service credit to graduate. Seniors gain access to the site through senior citizen organizations, places of worship or other approved organization. High school students gain access through their schools, places of worship and other approved youth organizations. All participants are approved by their sponsoring organization. There is no requirement to be computer literate or be familiar with facebook. Participates or organizations complete an online survey which will elicit the seniors' needs and the students' skills and then an algorithm matches seniors and students. Seniors get a little help to stay independent a little longer and students earn community service credit to graduate.
