Team Description:
Our team consists of students from Grammar School Jeseník /Gymnasium Jesenik/ and competes on behalf of the “Rainbow Leisure Centre Jeseník“. We have been successfully and regularly participating in robotics competitions like FLL (we are triple champions of the Czech Republic), Robot Challenge in Vienna and Robot Forum in Moscow. In addition to working with Lego robots, we have many other interests – playing different musical instruments, dancing, sports activities, interest in science and nature.
For our team, we chose the name R.U.R. as an honour to Joseph and Charles Čapek who made up and used the word ROBOT for the first time. It was in 1921 in a theatre play R.U.R. – Rosum´s Universal Robots. In Czech language the word „robota“ means "hard work". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.U.R.

Brief Submission Description:
To make life easier for the elderly, we propose a personal assistant in the form of mobile device similar to tablet. One of the functions of this assistant, called “Rainbow assistant”, should be to help the elderly with the orientation in large markets. The senior chooses a list of goods he wants to buy in simple voice-controlled assistant. Assistant then helps him to find his way to the desired goods. Furthermore, after reading the bar code it can pronounce the name of the goods, their price, ingredients, country of origin, etc. It also proposes an alternative product and highlights a special offer. Seniors would be able to borrow an assistant directly in the store. If a senior buys his own assistant, it can also be used for orientation in cities, when traveling by public transport, for finding the best way back home, for calls for help or to remind a senior to take medications.
