Team Description:
We are a team of 4th through 8th grade students from the Sterling School. We have first year members and second year members, all the way through fifth year members. We meet on Tuesdays in the afternoon after school. Our favorite word is "shoplifting" because at the beginning of the year we thought that one of the missions was called shoplifting, and now it is our good luck phrase. We met with our Senior Liaison and talked about problems seniors had. One of the main problems is stabilty. We met with an employee of Blue Dot Medical inc. He provided some of the walkers for testing. He also gave us helpful advice on some main problems that walkers have that our invention could fix.

Brief Submission Description:
The Omni-Wheel Walker is a walker that is designed to make the use of a walker easier for seniors. We designed a walker with Omni-Wheels and a spring-loaded stop mechanism that deploys a cylinder, therefore stalling the Omni-Wheels when at least eight pounds of pressure are applied to the top of our walker. We have a provisional application for a patent. We made the Omni-Wheel assembly ourselves. A patent lawyer reviewed our invention. We made a working prototype of the Omni Walker. We designed the prototype on Solidworks, machined parts, and then assembled the walker.
