We are a family team with yes, you guessed it….a dog named LUCKY! We each have so many activities that we participate in individually that we are always running here, there, and everywhere. Finding a way to balance that to form our own FLL team as a family was really fun because it was something we could do to spend quality time together. This is our third year participating in FLL and our third year making it to the Ohio State Championship! We really enjoyed meeting with seniors at St. Stephen’s Community House in Columbus, OH. We were so glad to be able to help them with some gardening this past Fall to help brighten their community.

Brief Submission Description:
One out of three seniors fall each year. Many do not get help for hours or even days. Our solution allows seniors to live independently in their homes with a low cost device that monitors their safety with no monthly fees. It is a motion sensor that looks for motion during pre-determined hours in the daytime. It can be easily set-up in a place in the home that a person is most likely to go to, such as the kitchen or living room. When there is no motion in the allotted time, calls would be made to friends, family, or neighbors.
